Cassandra Kellogg is a triple threat BFF I’ve loved for many years, we’ve stormed festivals dressed as ponies, roller skated through discos, hula hooped at the beach  on 4th of July and eaten cold veggie dogs on her kitchen floor, laughing hysterically.

Surfer, stylist, hula hooping extraordinaire and now swimwear designer, Cass brings a collection inspired by 70’s, 80’s and 90’s super models. Her passion for the ocean, Venice Beach (where her office is located, conveniently close to the sand) and running around in bikinis definitely brings something unique and delicious to her designs. She’s the girl who always has a towel in her trunk, a bikini in her purse and sunscreen in her glove compartment, she’s always got a surfboard strapped to HER roof or sticking out over the passenger seat, dressed in an Isabel Marant sweatshirt, ripped old denim shorts and a see-through white T shirt, and blasting Suzie Q, Cassandra really knows what it is to love the beach lifestyle.


If you could have one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

can I say cereal?


Which marine animal is your favorite?

don't think its an animal, but definitely a mermaid! I still pretend im one, when i go swimming in pools!



What color looks best on tan skin?

tan on tan is the way to go..




If you could live as a famous bombshell in any decade which one would it be and why?

Christie Brinkley  circa 1980's- the 80's were s so big on many things, hair, cars, and especially Swimwear! It would have been amazing to  be Christie, modeling for all those Sports illustrated shoots all over the world, driving Ferrari's for movies and just being that classic 80's TRUE California girl!
 




Best beach moment ever?

singing our favorite Beatles songs with YOU  and our friends at 2am, in Malibu a few years ago,  while standing on pillars in the ocean as the tide came up.. and then.....
                                    getting lost in the forest  right after





Saddest movie you have ever seen?

sad as in sad- March of the penguins, sad as in crying- The Notebook.

New York, NY – Wildfox Kids, the “little sister” adaptation of American vintage-inspired womens knitwear brand Wildfox Couture, introduces their Fall 2012 collection and campaign featuring Violet Hume, daughter of model Kirsty Hume and actor/musician Donovan Leitch. 

 Launching its first collection in 2009, Wildfox Kids is a L.A.-made collection of super-soft tees, sweatshirts, sweatpants and leggings for girls ages 4-14.  With continued growth and success of Wildfox Couture’s supreme quality and fit, development of a kids line seemed only a natural progression for the brand.  As the creative force behind both Wildfox Couture and Wildfox Kids, co-designers and childhood friends Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon say “We transformed our graphics and bodies from the womens line into fashionable designs that we would have wanted to wear ourselves as kids.” 

This collection is a nostalgic tribute to what it feels like to be a child, surrounded by imagination and magic, constantly getting the happy, heart swelling feeling of youth and love for life, when little birds and alligators could be best friends and every day held a mysterious and exciting story waiting to unfold.  Reinforcing the idea that you really don't have to grow up as you grow older, this collection celebrates the magic of being a kid.

Magical Creatures is a story written for Wildfox by critically acclaimed author, Francesca Lia Block. Francesca has been an inspiration for Wildfox creators, Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon, since before the birth of Wildfox in 2007.  Together Francesca, Emily and Kim have based a collection of dreamy T shirts on the story of 3 very different, magical girls who live in our favorite Wildfox cities – Ella, a fairy from Los Angeles, Cherie, a gypsy from Paris, and Dahlia, a witch from New York.  Francesca tells a story of these three girls and their important friendship, a metaphorical weaving of magic and mystery, beautiful clothes, and romantic back drops.  

“When I first moved to Los Angeles I was so scared.  It was a maze of crazy nights and hazy days in an unknown city filled with strangers and endless possibilities.  Reading Francesca Lia Block’s series, Dangerous Angels: The Weetzie Bat Books, helped show me the beauty in this city.  The sparkling lights and billboards on sunset, the spirit and love of the canyons, the romantic ghosts of past celebrities, the lingering Santa Ana Winds, pink houses, Jacaranda trees, and hot cement roads.  Francesca’s writing was always one of my main inspirations.  When starting Wildfox, she was there in my mind, sculpting characters and helping me be strong enough to live my dreams!  Now we’ve had the chance to collaborate with her and it’s been a dream come true to work with her amazing imagination.” – Kimberley Gordon, co-designer

They danced in glitter ballet skirts and sang songs about fairies, they dreamed of being teenagers and tried on their Mothers’ high heels. These little girls spent hours, days, years, playing make-believe, dressing up their Barbies and My Little Ponies, brushing their pink and lavender hair with little plastic brushes. If they had it their way they would live in the worlds they created, in pink mansions, magical forests with pony friends,
dressed in shiny mini skirts with lavender hair and baby blue accessories. And as fate would have it, these little girls met, finally, in California where they spent their days under forts in warm summers and in magic lands that existed in the great realms of their imaginations.

The years passed and they entered Junior High together, toys were replaced by first kisses and crushes, homework and insecurities. High School brought new crowds, quarterback boyfriends, classes, cars, homecoming dances, bigger dreams, and the childish worlds they'd once created faded. But, secretly, they each carried with them the love for all things sparkly and fantastical, and after many years and wild experiences they turned 25 and started their own clothing line. They didn't know if they would succeed, but they still strongly believed in their dreams and imaginations, and the power to make things come to life.

Spring 2012 White Label is a reflection of the girl's childhood fantasies, a grown up fairy tale decked with pastels, sparkles, mini dresses and 80's nostalgia. My little pony, Care Bears and Rainbow Bright are brought to life in this
collection with pastel hair, dreamy knits, creamy lace, fringe and dungarees.

As 28 year old women, we might not be able to play with Barbies and Rainbow Brite, or create fantasy worlds in plastic castles on the floor, but we can do all those grown up things we dreamed of when we were little girls.

We can wear a lavender mini dress with flouncy sleeves and sparkling stars, we can kiss boys and run down the beach at night, we can fall asleep on the sofa with all our girlfriends watching 80's movies, we can wear high heels and have wild adventures and, if we want, we can see the world.

The things we lose are not really lost, they shaped us growing up and still exist as fairy tales waiting to come true.

Coming this Spring!

 

Since Emily and I were 12 years old, best friends forever, we have loved drawing, painting,  making happy lists, collaging pictures of what we love, photography, animals, and each other! We used to take pictures of each other modeling in funny places so we could learn photography. It was always a dream of ours to do something really special together, WILDFOX is a direct representaion of our imaginations and dreams.

The Daydream T's are a special collection of our favorite things, my paintings, her loves, and some of our photographs. We left them white so that you can partake in the imagination process and hand dye them yourselves! I love hand dying things, and you really cant go wrong with it, everything always comes out like a piece of art. We hope you enjoy this collection, even the cuts of the T shirts and fabric are designed specially after what we want for ourselves, including a very special shoulder pad T that I made to wear for going out at night! I am gonnna dye mine grey.
